In a recent episode of their new YouTube series, Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi shared their reasons for keeping their wedding a secret from friends, colleagues, and the public. The couple was already in a live in before their secret wedding, so no one guessed.

Archana mentioned that part of the reason for keeping the marriage a secret was the initial opposition from Parmeet’s parents.

Nonetheless, the bigger issue was the industry's attitude in the 1990s, where married actors, particularly women, were frequently disregarded for parts.

Parmeet mentioned that being in a committed relationship might also harm a heroine’s career.

“At that time, don’t think about marriage—if you were truly dating someone, actresses would lose job opportunities,” he stated.

Resonating with his sentiments, Archana remarked, “It was a terrible trend back then. Actresses were evaluated based on their private lives. Fortunately, that perspective has shifted now. Kareena Kapoor and Kajol have shattered that stereotype.”

The couple eventually disclosed their marriage years later, as the industry started changing and chances were no longer determined by marital status.

A Romance That Started in 1988

In 1988, Archana and Parmeet met for the first time at a friend's home and subsequently enjoyed the evening at a club. Parmeet contacted her the following day, and the two quickly became friends. Archana has openly revealed in her vlogs that their relationship started on a casual note, which eventually evolved into a profound and enduring connection.

The pair got married in a discreet ceremony in 1992 and are currently the parents of two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. In addition to their acting stint, Archana and Parmeet also have a YouTube channel where they provide insights into their lives via travel, food, and family-oriented content.

Her most recent project featured Triptii Dimri and Rajkummar Rao in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, alongside Nadaaniyan starring Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor.

She is also a special guest on The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show.
