Veteran actor and TMC MP Shatrughan Sinha was admitted to a private hospital after developing a 'strong fever,' as stated by his son, Luv Sinha, on Sunday. The exact time of his admission to the hospital was not immediately confirmed. According to Luv, Shatrughan will also undergo his annual health checkup during his hospital stay.
Shatrughan Sinha, a prominent figure in Indian cinema during the 70s and 80s, is well-known for his roles in films like 'Mere Apne' Kalicharan, 'Vishwanath' 'Kaala Patthar. Luv clarified that his father had a strong fever, leading the family to decide on hospitalization for recovery and annual tests. Reports of Shatrughan undergoing minor surgery were denied by Luv, who emphasized that there had been no surgical procedure. "I have been going there every day, so I can tell you that there was no surgical procedure," Luv confirmed.
The situation has drawn significant attention, especially following an eventful period for Shatrughan. He recently won the Asansol constituency seat for TMC in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls with a significant margin of 59,564 votes. This victory came alongside the high-profile wedding of his daughter, Sonakshi Sinha, to actor Zaheer Iqbal on June 23.
Sonakshi and Zaheer were seen visiting the hospital on Friday, sparking curiosity about their visit. The couple's wedding was a major event, and their hospital visit added to the ongoing public interest in the Sinha family's activities. Sonakshi Sinha, a successful actress in her own right, and Zaheer Iqbal, her long-time partner and co-star in "Double XL," have been in the public eye, and their recent marriage has been widely covered in the media.
Earlier, Luv Sinha addressed an 'online campaign' criticizing his absence from his sister's wedding. He accused a website of running a campaign based on a 'false premise.' Luv stated that family will always be his priority, explaining, "Why I chose not to attend. Running an online campaign against me on a false premise won’t change the fact that for me, my family will always come first."
The Sinha family has faced considerable media scrutiny, especially given their political and entertainment industry prominence. Shatrughan Sinha's recent political success and Sonakshi's high-profile wedding have kept them in the limelight. The family’s commitment to supporting each other through health issues and public scrutiny reflects their close-knit nature, despite the challenges of being public figures.Shatrughan's hospitalization has undoubtedly been stressful for the family, but Luv's updates provide some reassurance about his father's health. As he undergoes treatment and routine health checks, his supporters remain hopeful for his swift recovery.
In the midst of these personal events, Shatrughan Sinha's professional life continues to thrive. His victory in the Lok Sabha elections demonstrates his enduring appeal and effectiveness as a politician. Representing West Bengal’s Asansol constituency, his win by such a large margin is a testament to his popularity and the trust the electorate places in him.

The public continues to follow Shatrughan Sinha’s health updates closely, with well-wishes pouring in from fans and colleagues alike.
