SEVENTEEN to perform at Lollapalooza Berlin without Jun; concert to be a special farewell for Jeonghan before military enlistment

SEVENTEEN, renowned for their energetic performances and diverse musical style, is set to infuse the Lollapalooza stage with a distinctive K-pop vibe.

SEVENTEEN has arrived in Berlin for their eagerly awaited performance at Lollapalooza, but their lineup will be missing one key member, Jun. This performance is particularly significant as it marks one of Jeonghan’s last appearances with the group before his mandatory military enlistment later this year.

SEVENTEEN, renowned for their energetic performances and diverse musical style, is set to infuse the Lollapalooza stage with a distinctive K-pop vibe. Fans can look forward to an exhilarating show, which will be streamed live on SEVENTEEN's YouTube channel on September 8 at 10 PM IST and on September 9 at 1:40 AM KST.

This performance holds special importance for Jeonghan, who is slated to begin his military service in the latter half of 2024, as confirmed by PLEDIS Entertainment. Although the exact date of his enlistment has not been disclosed, it is confirmed that Jeonghan will not participate in the group’s promotional activities for their upcoming 12th mini album in October, nor in the SEVENTEEN RIGHT HERE WORLD TOUR, which also starts in October.

Jeonghan's appearance at Lollapalooza Berlin, along with a previously announced fan signing event, will be the final opportunity for CARATs to see him perform with the group before his military hiatus.

Jun will also be absent from the Berlin performance due to scheduling conflicts. The Chinese member is pursuing acting opportunities in China starting later this year, which overlaps with the group's Lollapalooza schedule. PLEDIS Entertainment explained that Jun's absence is necessary due to his filming commitments.

Despite these changes, SEVENTEEN continues to shine on the global stage. They, along with NewJeans, are top contenders for the Best Group category at the 2024 MTV VMAs, following intense rounds of fan voting. The group is also nominated for Best K-Pop, competing against other major acts like BTS' Jungkook, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and Stray Kids.
