Producer Deepak Mukut has confirmed that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is happening, marking a major moment for fans of the 2016 romantic drama that quietly grew into a cult favourite over the years. The announcement came as the film completed ten years since its original release, with Mukut sharing an emotional note reflecting on the journey of his first production.

In his Instagram post, Mukut looked back at what drew him to filmmaking in the first place. “I have been drawn to filmmaking since I was a kid. What attracted me the most was being an enabler who set it in motion,” he wrote, describing the many responsibilities that come with being a producer. He added that with his first film, he was determined to back a romance with a strong emotional core, a vision that ultimately shaped Sanam Teri Kasam.

Released in 2016, the film did not find success at the box office during its initial run. Despite positive word of mouth, it struggled commercially and faded from theatres far earlier than expected. However, Mukut revealed that he never lost faith in the film. That belief was eventually rewarded years later when Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released and went on to rewrite history by becoming one of the highest-grossing re-released Hindi films in 2025.

“My dream came true with Sanam Teri Kasam,” Mukut wrote, calling it a labour of love under the Soham Rockstar Entertainment banner. While the initial failure was disappointing, the delayed but overwhelming audience response gave him the validation he had been waiting for. According to the producer, the love the film received during its re-release was far more meaningful than box office numbers alone.

In his note, Mukut also expressed gratitude to the people who helped bring the film to life. He thanked co-directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, lead actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, and music composer Himesh Reshammiya, along with the entire cast and crew.

Concluding his message, Mukut dropped the line fans had been waiting for: “But the story doesn’t end here, there is a reboot in store.” With that confirmation, Sanam Teri Kasam 2 now moves from long-standing fan demand to an officially announced reality, promising a new chapter in the emotional universe of the film.
