Rohit Shetty celebrates Singham's 13th anniversary and 33 years of friendship with Ajay Devgn

Rohit Shetty is generating buzz with the upcoming "Singham 3," the latest instalment in the popular franchise.

Director Rohit Shetty is known for his action-packed cop dramas and Singham perfectly fit his signature style. Recently, to celebrate 13 years of the hit film Singham starring Ajay, the director shared a special video on social media showcasing their filmmaking journey together and highlighting their enduring friendship.

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty's friendship goes back to Ajay's very first movie, "Phool Aur Kaante," where Rohit worked as an assistant director.

The video shared on Instagram, begins with a celebratory poster for "Singham's" 13th year, then takes viewers on a sentimental journey through their filmmaking partnership. He wrote in the caption, "13 years of Singham, 33 years of brotherhood @ajaydevgn."

The stellar journey of the popular cop-thriller franchise began back in 2011 with Singham. Helmed by Rohit Shetty, the film focuses on the story of Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn), an honest and fearless policeman determined to fight injustice. When Singham clashes with the corrupt politician Jaikant Shikre, a thrilling battle between good and evil ensues. Ajay Devgn, Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj starred as the leads in the film. Rohit and Ajay Devgn have also worked together in Singham 2.

However, the actor-director duo also share a strong bond as they have been working together for 33 years.

While talking to ANI, Rohit recalled how working together led to a lifetime of friendship.

He said that initially, he had already collaborated with Ajay on several films, including "Suhaag," "Haqeeqat," and "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha." However, their earlier projects were not successful. When Ajay founded his company, he invited Rohit to join him, and Rohit began working as an associate director on "Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha." This was followed by other films like "Raju Chacha." After 13-14 years of working together, Rohit expressed his desire to direct a film. Ajay agreed, and Rohit narrated a script to him, which they decided to make into a movie.
