Vishwak Sen’s Funky gets new release date, quirky comedy drama to hit theatres on February 13

Funky to soon release in theatres

Vishwak Sen's upcoming movie, Funky, recently created a buzz among the fans with its teaser filled with comedy. Fans are eagerly awaiting the film’s release, and the makers have announced a new release date.

Filmmaker Anudeep K.V. took to his Instagram and shared a poster of the film announcing the release date of the comedy drama. Funky was initially slated to release in the theatres on April 3, 2026, but now it has been preponed and will hit the theatres on February 13.

Alongside the poster, the director penned in the caption, “Your ticket to a crazy, fun-filled experience with #FUNKY arrives on 13th FEB! Fun for all. Madness for everyone. 100% Entertainment guaranteed. In cinemas #FunkyFrom13thFeb.”

Funky will go off against Nikhil's PAN-India flick Swayambhu at the box office. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya will back the film under the Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. Bheems Ceciroleo is composing the soundtrack.

Kayadu Lohar makes her Telugu debut in Funky, which is directed by Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu fame. Anudeep and Mohan Sato share writing credits. Suresh Sarangam is the cinematographer, and Navin Nooli has handled the editing.

Funky is a quirky, self-aware comedy. Vishwak Sen plays aspiring film director Komal, trying to make a movie called Funky, clashing and falling for the producer's daughter (Kayadu Lohar) in a playful take on filmmaking, romance, and industry dynamics, with director KV Anudeep bringing his signature situational humour.

Kayadu plays starlet Chitra, who also happens to be the daughter of a wealthy producer.

Additionally, Funky is Vishwak Sen's second partnership with producer Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments.
