Actor-turned-politician Vijay has spoken about the recent attention surrounding his personal life, urging his fans to stay calm and not let the situation trouble them.

He shared these thoughts while addressing supporters at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)’s Women’s Day event in Chennai on Saturday.

The 51-year-old leader, who enjoys a deeply loyal fan base, chose to speak openly about the matter after weeks of speculation and discussion across social media and news platforms.

A video from the event, which quickly went viral, showed Thalapathy Vijay gently reassuring his supporters and asking them to focus on larger causes rather than worrying about him.

He said, "Please don’t worry about the recent problems surrounding me. Those issues are not worth your time. I will take care of them myself. What hurts me the most is seeing you feel sad or stressed because of my problems. Please don’t carry that burden for me. Instead, let’s focus on the welfare of people."

His words reflected both concern and gratitude for the love he continues to receive from fans. For many, it was a rare and personal moment, as Thalapathy Vijay is known for keeping his private life away from the public eye.

The actor’s personal life has been under the spotlight recently after his estranged wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce following 26 years of marriage. The couple, who married in August 1999, have two children — Jason Sanjay and Divya Shasha.

According to reports, Sangeetha Sornalingam alleged in her petition that Thalapathy Vijay was involved in an extramarital relationship with a female actor, which she claims to have discovered in 2021. She has also sought residential protection and financial support, stating that she does not have a residence of her own in India.

The petition notes, “Vijay made it clear that she would not be permitted to reside in the matrimonial home if she chose to approach the court for legal separation.”

The situation drew further public attention after Thalapathy Vijay attended a wedding reception alongside actor Trisha Krishnan, where they were reportedly seen arriving and leaving together.

Despite the ongoing developments, Thalapathy Vijay’s message was clear — he hopes his fans will remain strong, avoid unnecessary worry, and continue to stand by him as he focuses on both his personal responsibilities and his commitment to public service.
