Actor Trisha Krishnan has found herself in the spotlight recently amid ongoing chatter surrounding actor-politician Vijay and his reported divorce controversy. The renewed attention intensified after Trisha and Vijay were seen together at a reception ceremony, with visuals from the event quickly circulating across social media.

As photos and videos from the function went viral, filmmaker-actor R. Parthiban made remarks about the situation on two separate occasions, sparking discussion online.

Now, Trisha has seemingly responded to the matter publicly. While she did not mention anyone directly, the actor shared a pointed message addressing what she described as the “stupidity” of the individual involved.

Taking to X on Sunday evening, Trisha posted a statement explaining how her name and image were reportedly used at a recent event. She wrote, “I was informed by the organisers of a recent event that my name and picture were included at the last minute at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant.”

She went on to criticise the comments made about her, adding, “A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at.”

Her reaction comes after remarks made by Parthiban during the Galatta Awards ceremony. During the show, he was asked to speak about actors he had collaborated with in the past. When Trisha’s picture appeared on screen, he referred to her role as Kundavai and said, “This Kundavai should be kept at home for a few days.”

During the interaction, the conversation turned to Trisha’s portrayal of Princess Kundavai in Mani Ratnam’s epic historical film Ponniyin Selvan.

Responding to the question, Parthiban jokingly remarked that it might be “better to ask Kundavai to sit inside the house,” adding that “it is better if she doesn't step out because it is creating a lot of issues.” While some fans viewed the comment as typical Parthiban humour, many others felt it was in poor taste, especially given the ongoing speculation linking Vijay and Trisha.

The conversation gained traction online after the two actors were spotted arriving together at the reception ceremony.

In videos from the event, Vijay was seen carrying a bouquet of flowers while Trisha greeted guests warmly with hugs and handshakes. The pair later walked onto the stage together to congratulate the newlyweds, posed for photographs, and were also seen leaving the venue around the same time.

For those unversed, reports have suggested that Vijay’s wife Sangeetha Vijay has filed a divorce petition from the actor-politician over alleged claims of adultery with another actress. Some discussions circulating on social media claim that the petition reportedly mentions Vijay’s alleged connection with an actress as a major reason for the marital strain. However, neither Vijay nor his wife have officially confirmed or denied these allegations.
