Actor and politician Vijay continues to be embroiled in controversy after his wife Sangeetha filed for a divorce, alleging him of having affair.

Now his former assistant, Selvaraj Selvam, has come forward to make more shocking accusations against the actor. In his statement, Selvaraj has alleged assault, neglect, and financial ruin claims against the actor.

In an interview with a Tamil YouTube channel, Wow Tamizha!, Selvaraj, who had been a personal assistant of Vijay for over a decade, allegedly detailed experiences of physical assault, workplace harassment, and eventual neglect.

Selvaraj also recalled a specific incident during the shooting of the 2015 film 'Puli' in Thalakkona.

The former claimed that, “One night, I took food to his room. He was angry on the phone. After eating, he pointed at a plate and asked me what it was (referring to a previous incident where hair was found in food). Before I could respond, he hit me. I fell to the ground. Then he stepped on my chest. The next day, he apologized, saying his anger from other things was taken out on me.”

He claimed that Vijay was treated like an enemy by his close colleagues, including Rajendran, the driver.

He said, “During the 'Thuppakki' Bombay schedule, they threatened to put salt in the food I prepared for Vijay sir. They were always against me.”

Selvaraj also claimed that people who didn't like him were responsible for his dismissal from the position of personal assistant under the guise of discovering hair in food. Instead, he was instructed to work in production.

He claimed, “During the 'GOAT' shoot at Prasad Studio, I had a heart attack. Surgery cost me Rs 10 lakh; I borrowed money at interest. It's been two years. I tried to meet Vijay sir for help, but his people won't let me near him. When I look for work elsewhere, people say, 'He worked with Vijay, he must have plenty of money.' My wife doesn't even have a proper mangalsutra—just a thread. My family is struggling for food. I haven't paid rent in two months.”

He disclosed that Vijay was personally invited by his family to his daughter's wedding, but the actor did not show up or provide any financial support.

After ten years of service, Selvaraj, who had previously collaborated on sixty films with Vijay's father and director S.A. Chandrasekhar, claimed he never anticipated finding himself in this situation.
