Actor Prakash Raj has reportedly stepped away from Spirit, the much-anticipated film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles.
Speculation intensified after the makers unveiled the first-look poster of Vivek Oberoi’s character from the film. While the caption listed several prominent cast and crew members, Prakash Raj’s name was noticeably absent from the credits. The omission has fueled fresh rumours that the senior actor may indeed have parted ways with the project.
Earlier, a report by OTTPlay claimed that Prakash Raj, who was said to be playing a significant role in the film, was no longer associated with it. Responding strongly to the report, the actor took to his X handle and dismissed the claims, stating that filming for his portions had not even begun.
He wrote, “To all the toxic #Fakenews peddlers…. On #Spirit the movie. We have not even started shooting for my scenes..and you whatsup factories speculate stories . Grow up and have a life." This seemed to have refuted the reports of his dismissal earlier.
However, fresh developments suggest that the situation may have changed. According to the latest reports, the alleged fallout reportedly stemmed from differences over the script and the execution of a particular scene. The recent promotional material released by the makers did little to clarify matters, as Prakash Raj’s name continued to remain missing from the updated cast list.
As per a source cited by Hindustan Times, the actor is no longer associated with Spirit. The filmmakers have yet to issue an official statement addressing the reason behind the reported exit, and no replacement has been announced so far.

Meanwhile, the team recently revealed Vivek Oberoi’s striking first look from the film. In the poster, the actor is seen smoking a cigar, dressed in a purple velvet robe, sporting glasses and a moustache. He holds a sword while resting one foot on a couch behind him. The makers also subtly introduced another cast member, Aishwarya Desai, who appears in the frame.
Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit is mounted as a pan-India release and will hit theatres on March 5, 2027, in eight languages.
