Actor Prakash Raj has firmly denied reports claiming that he has exited Spirit, the much-anticipated action drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and headlined by Prabhas. The clarification comes after a flurry of speculation on social media suggested that the actor was removed from the project following an alleged fallout with the filmmaker.
Responding sharply to the rumours, Prakash Raj took to X to set the record straight. In a strongly worded post, he wrote, “To all the toxic #Fakenews peddlers On #Spirit the movie. We have not even started shooting for my scenes and you WhatsApp factories speculate stories. Grow up and have a life,” dismissing the reports outright. His statement made it clear that the claims circulating online were unfounded and premature.
The rumours had earlier suggested that Prakash Raj stepped away from the film due to creative differences with Vanga, reportedly over the script and a particular scene. Some unverified reports even claimed that his alleged behaviour on set had caused friction with the makers, leading to his supposed removal. However, there was no official confirmation from the production team or the director, and Raj’s response has now put those claims to rest.
Since its announcement, Spirit has remained in the spotlight, largely due to the combination of Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is coming off the massive success of Animal. In the film, Prabhas is set to portray an intense police officer, a role that has already generated significant buzz among fans. The project also stars Triptii Dimri as the female lead, marking her second collaboration with Vanga after Animal. Vivek Oberoi is reportedly playing the primary antagonist.
Earlier reports had stated that Deepika Padukone exited the film due to scheduling conflicts, following which Triptii Dimri was finalised for the role. With casting updates and frequent speculation, the film has consistently stayed in the news cycle.
Spirit, regarded as one of the most anticipated upcoming films in Indian cinema, is currently slated for a theatrical release in March 2027. For now, Prakash Raj’s clarification has effectively shut down rumours of any rift, reaffirming his association with the project.
