Netflix is back yet again in the South with its annual "Netflix Pandigai". The OTT giant has made its announcements for Pongal and released a great list of 12 Tamil movies. The 2026 lineup has a wide range of genres and stars, with actors like Suriya, Dhanush, and Ravi Mohan starring in multiple projects. This shows that Netflix is still focused on Tamil cinema.
This is the fourth year in a row that Netflix has announced its Tamil film lineup around Pongal. This is a tradition that shows how much the streamer believes in movies that focus on different themes and formats. She went on to say that movies like Idli Kadai, Dude, Dragon, and Bison Kaalamaadan are examples of this changing range.
One of the big news stories is that Kara is officially Dhanush's 54th movie. Vignesh Raja, who is known for the hit movie Por Thozhil, directed the movie. It also stars Mamitha Baiju and has music by GV Prakash Kumar. The people who made it have said that it will come out in theaters in early 2026.
Idhayam Murali, which was announced earlier this year by Dawn Pictures, is another important title. The movie is Aakash Baskaran's first time directing, and Atharvaa stars in it. The title is a nod to the actor's father. Kayadu Lohar plays the main female role, and Thaman returns to acting after almost twenty years.

Gatta Kusthi 2 is a sequel to the 2022 hit that comedy fans will love. Chella Ayyavu directed the movie, which stars Vishnu Vishal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Karunas, Munishkanth, and Kaali Venkat. Vishnu Vishal also produced the movie.
Dhanush also has Dhanush 55 coming up, which will bring him back together with Rajkumar Periasamy, who directed Amaran. The first look hints at a gritty, action-packed story, but more information is still to come.
Ravi Mohan is a strong actor and producer. Karthik Yogi directed Ravi Mohan Productions Project 1, a funny movie with a strange plot. The cast includes SJ Suryah, Arjun Ashokan, Shraddha Srinath, and Malavika Manoj, and the music was written by Thaman. An Ordinary Man, Ravi Mohan's second movie, is also his first as a director. It stars Yogi Babu as the main character in a comedy about an underdog.
With Love, which stars Anaswara Rajan and Abishan Jeevinth as the lead actors, is another interesting addition. Dayangaram, a comedy-drama with Natty in the lead, is the first film directed by VJ Siddhu.
AGS 28, AGS Entertainments' 28th production, is the last one on the list. It brings Arjun and Abhirami back together after more than 20 years. The movie has music by Ravi Basrur and is said to be an action thriller for the whole family.
