
Anil Ravipudi's comedy Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSVPG) opened in theatres on January 12 ahead of Sankranthi. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie, which stars Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in the key roles, has performed well at the box office since its premiere. To meet the demand for the movie, new shows are even being added.
According to the trade website, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu earned an estimated Rs 19.25 crore net in India on its third day, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 79.60 crore.
The film opened in the theatres with impressive footfall and earned Rs 32.25 crore net in India. However, the film registered a 41.86% dip on Tuesday, bringing in Rs 18.75 crore net in India.
It is anticipated that the movie will shortly surpass Rs 100 crore. Additionally, it surpassed the lifetime earnings of Chiranjeevi's earlier movies, as Bholaa Shankar earned Rs 30.63 crore, Acharya earned Rs 56.14 crore, and Godfather earned Rs 74.03 crore in India.
MSVPG, which is named after Chiranjeevi's birth name, Sivasankara Varaprasad, narrates the tale of a security guard who tries to reconcile with his estranged wife, portrayed by Nayanthara.
According to the movie's synopsis, "A security officer protecting his estranged wife and kids from a vengeful ex-cop sees it as a chance to rebuild their relationship after six years apart."
The movie was seen in theatres with fans by Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Sai Durgha Tej, and a number of other Konidela family members. In celebration of MSVPG's success, Chiranjeevi had a party at his Jubilee Hills residence. Venkatesh, who made a brief appearance in the movie, also attended.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film also stars Nayanthara as Sasirekha, Venkatesh as Venky Gowda, Catherine Tresa, Zarina Wahab, Harsh Vardhan, Abhinav Gomatam, and others in pivotal roles.
