Makers of Vijay's much awaited movie Jana Nayagan have decided to end the legal battle and withdrawn the case against Censor Board.

According to India Today, KVN Production’s counsel said that the matter was brought before Justice PT Asha at the Madras High Court, following which the production house was granted permission to withdraw its petition against the CBFC.

KVN Productions will now submit the film for review before the Revising Committee of the Censor Board.

Now that the makers have withdrawn their plea, chances are that they can ask the board to fast track the certification process and make sure that the movie releases at the earliest.

There is no specific date as to when the CBFC's Revising Committee will watch the movie.

The censor board has raised objections to some scenes in the movie related to the Indian Army, violence and religion.

Jana Nayagan has been made at a massive budget of Rs 300 crore and the producers are now hoping that if the film releases soon it might turn blockbuster owing to Vijay's popularity and the fact that it is actor's last movie before entering politics.

Jana Nayagan was originally going to have a worldwide theatrical release on January 9.

According to reports, this move by the makers is aimed at a hassle free release of the movie at the earliest.

Plus the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where Vijay is going to make his official political entry with his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is also another factor.

Earlier KVN Productions had challenged the Censor Board's decision in court. They had also moved the Supreme Court seeking intervention but the plea was was eventually scrapped. SC asked the producers to go back to the Madras High Court. Later the Madras High Court had also set aside the single judge order which has asked the CBFC to issue an A certificate to the movie.

The makers are now eyeing an early release after today's decision of withdrawing their case.
