Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has put an end to the recent rumors about Kaithi 2 and the future of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). He firmly denied rumors that he had left the project or that the shared universe had been put on hold.
In the last few weeks, a lot of people on social media said that Lokesh had left Kaithi 2 because of money problems. Other reports also suggested that the LCU itself had been quietly left behind.
The director said that these stories were completely false and based on false information, which only confused fans more.
Lokesh made it clear at a press conference on January 26 that he was not leaving Kaithi 2 and that he would keep his long-term commitments.
"Some people say I left Kaithi 2 because I wanted a lot of money, and others say the LCU is closed." Let me be clear. Kaithi 2 will be my next movie after the Allu Arjun sir movie. I have to make Kaithi 2, Vikram 2, and the Rolex standalone movies. He said, "I won't leave until I've finished them."
Lokesh told audiences that the cinematic universe is very much alive and getting ready for big changes in the future of the LCU. He said that the LCU would "open properly very soon" and that Benz is also part of the same universe.
This suggests that the franchise will grow even more in the next few years.
Kaithi 2 is the sequel to Lokesh Kanagaraj's 2019 hit Kaithi that everyone is looking forward to.
The first movie was about Dilli, an ex-convict who had to help the police while being chased by a ruthless mafia network. Kaithi, which starred Karthi in the lead role, had a great cast that included Narain, Arjun Das, Harish Uthaman, and George Maryan. It went on to become a landmark film in Tamil cinema.
