
Andreas Brueckl, a globally lauded senior colourist, has been added to the creative team of Annapurna Studios, a major entertainment institution in India.
The studio, which is headed by CTO C.V. Rao, is making a daring move to not only maintain but also bolster their pledge to outstanding storytelling and stunning visuals.
Andreas Brueckl, with more than twenty years of experience in different countries of Europe and Asia, has contributed to feature films, streaming series of high quality, and international commercial projects.
He has become known as one of the best colourists in the industry. Some of the titles he worked on that have been both critically acclaimed and blockbusters include Paatal Lok, Jailer, Sacred Games, Maidaan, Delhi Crime, and Daaku Maharaj.
Known for his meticulous understanding of cameras, lenses, and lighting, Andreas Brueckl has an uncanny ability to translate vision into cinematic texture, enhancing every frame he touches.
At Annapurna Studios, he will help push the boundaries of what Indian cinema can achieve visually, blending technical mastery with creative storytelling.

Andreas Brueckl is also a pioneer in modern colour grading workflows. He was the first colourist to introduce and implement ACES at scale in Asia, graded India’s first HDR Dolby Vision feature film for Netflix, and was an early adopter of scene-referred colour grading, helping establish contemporary HDR pipelines for long-form storytelling.
