
Allu Arjun's biggest box office success and an industry hit in India, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is gearing up to rule in Japan. The widely popular movie made waves at the Indian box office before becoming a cultural phenomenon. Now it eyes to break records in Japan.
The film notably features a Japanese reference, with Pushpa’s entry fight sequence set in Japan, where Allu Arjun fluently delivers Japanese dialogue.
Allu Arjun has recently travelled to Tokyo with his family to promote his action movie ahead of its big Japanese release on January 16. The actor has recently taken to his Instagram and shared a beautiful glimpse of Tokyo.
He ditched the lengthy caption and simply added hashtags, “#tokyo #PostCardShot #snAAp.” The picture showed the stunning metropolitan skyline.
Under the title Pushpa Kunrin, distributors Geek Pictures and Shochiku have teamed up with Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers to bring the Pushpa lunacy to Japanese screens. The movie is scheduled to open in around 250 theatres.
The producers are optimistic about the movie's success in Japan since Japanese viewers have demonstrated a deep affection for the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema.
The record-breaking blockbuster, which stars icon actor Allu Arjun in the lead role, will debut in Japanese theatres under the title Pushpa Kunrin on January 15, 2026. Devi Sri Prasad wrote the soundtrack for the Sukumar-directed movie. Rashmika Mandanna portrays the female lead, and Fahadh Faasil plays a police officer. Y. Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni are the film's producers.
Pushpa 2: The Rule revolves around a powerful smuggler who goes head-to-head with a vengeful enemy while controlling politics and managing high-stakes confrontations. A public apology sparks a tense showdown, culminating in a challenge.
