Priyanka Chopra is currently busy promoting her upcoming film The Bluff, and a recent interview has sparked an unexpected wave of nostalgia across the internet. During a light-hearted interaction with Karl Urban, the actress opened up about the many nicknames she has been given over the years. One particular revelation, however, caught everyone’s attention and quickly set social media buzzing.
In a video shared on the Hey U Guys Instagram account, Priyanka and Karl were seen chatting with the host about nicknames. When asked whether they had any, Priyanka responded with her characteristic candour. “Oh my God. I’ve had many. Umm, in India we have a culture of giving people nicknames as a way of showing love, and most people, especially in the north of India, have like a nickname. So, my name is Priyanka; it has nothing to do with anything that my nickname sounds like. It’s Mimi. Why is my nickname Mimi? I don’t know. We have two names usually,” she said.
The conversation then took a playful turn when she hinted at another nickname that had been given to her by a co-star years ago. Without initially revealing the name, Priyanka admitted it was “a bad one” and joked that it would follow her if she said it out loud. Karl Urban, intrigued, encouraged her to share it.
Eventually, Priyanka revealed the nickname: “Piggy Chops.”
Karl reacted instantly, bursting into laughter and calling it outrageous. Priyanka joined in, explaining, “I think I ate like a pig.” The banter continued, with Karl joking that he would not be able to look at her the same way again without thinking of the nickname. Priyanka responded in good humour, adding that Karl was definitely not going to share any nickname he might have.
The light exchange quickly made its way to the comment section, where netizens began speculating about who had coined the nickname. Several users mentioned Abhishek Bachchan, suggesting that he was the one who had called her “Piggy Chops” during their early collaborations. Although there has been no official confirmation in this particular interview, the nickname has long been associated with the actor in media reports and fan discussions.
The resurfacing of the nickname has triggered a mix of nostalgia and amusement online. Many fans recalled the time when the moniker frequently appeared in headlines, while others appreciated Priyanka’s ability to laugh at herself and revisit the past without discomfort.
Meanwhile, The Bluff continues to build anticipation. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the film stars Priyanka Chopra alongside Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Temuera Morrison. The film is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 25, 2026.
