South Korean comedian and TV personality Park Na Rae abruptly cancelled her scheduled appearance on MBC Standard FM’s Son Tae Jin’s Trot Radio earlier today, just an hour before the show went live. While online speculation initially pointed toward her involvement in a controversy with singer BoA, it has now been confirmed that a major theft at her home was the real reason behind the sudden no-show.
According to Mail Business Star, Park Na Rae’s agency revealed that her Itaewon residence was broken into and that high-value luxury items had gone missing. An official from her team was quoted saying, “We found out yesterday (April 7) that expensive items that Park Na Rae kept at home were lost. There was a theft incident when Park Na Rae was not at home, and we reported it to the police station this afternoon.”
While the agency is still assessing the total value of the stolen items, early reports suggest that the loss could run into tens of millions of KRW. This estimate is based on the lavish belongings Park Na Rae has previously displayed on shows like MBC’s I Live Alone, where her 5.57 billion KRW detached home and luxurious lifestyle have often been showcased.
The timing of the theft and the subsequent police report are believed to have interfered with her ability to appear on the live radio broadcast. Initially, the show's team simply cited “personal reasons” for her cancellation, prompting fan speculation about her health and even linking it to a separate incident involving BoA.

A day earlier, BoA, during a drunken live stream, responded to a fan question about why MC Jun Hyun Moo hadn’t dated Park Na Rae, saying, “Jun is too good for Park.” The comment stirred backlash and led to rumours that Na Rae might be avoiding public appearances. However, her agency has made it clear that the real issue is the theft, not the BoA remark.
