Mirzapur Season 3 MS3W teases release date, Guddu Bhaiyya seethes at the lack of clarity

Prime Video has been teasing the release date of Mirzapur Season 3 through posters and video for over a fortnight now. The latest in this series of social media posters and videos is a YouTube video featuring Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal). Titled 'Guddu #MS3W kab aayega?', the video shows Guddu losing patience and keen to know the Mirzapur Season 3 release date as well:

"Date khojne aaye ho na?", he addresses viewers directly. "Date mil jayegi, hum bhi yehi soche the." Watch the video here:

Mirzapur Season 3: Cast and what to expect

Mirzapur Season 1 was a runaway hit when it released on Prime Video in 2018. The story revolved around two young boys who get mixed up with a local leader who is also running a massive drugs and country-made weapons business. There is corruption and danger at every level, and the show packs a lot of violence. Within the first 10 minutes of the first episode of 'Mirzapur', someone's hand is blown off by a country-made weapon and a groom is killed at his own wedding celebration. It's a fair preview of the mayhem that is to follow. In Mirzapur Season 2, apheem (opium) trade also comes into the picture.

Over the two seasons of Mirzapur so far, an excellent ensemble cast has carried this Excel Entertainment show forward. Apart from Ali Fazal as Govind 'Guddu' Pandit, the cast includes:

- Pankaj Tripathi as the ruthless Akhandanand 'Kaleen' Tripathi.

- Vikrant Massey as Vinay 'Bablu' Pandit. Guddu's brother and Golu's love interest, Bablu is killed at the end of Season 1.

- Divyenddu as Phoolchand 'Munna' Tripathi. Son of Kaleen Bhaiyya, Munna itches to show his father that he can take over his drugs-guns-and-politics empire. He, too, is shot dead at the end of Season 2.

- Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi, Kaleen Bhaiya's young wife. She is unsatisfied in her marriage, has an affair with the cook, and pays a heavy price for it. She's alive at the start of Mirzapur Season 3 but she has seen and perpetrated much violence over the seasons.

- Shweta Tripathi as Gajgamini 'Golu' Gupta has lost her love interest Bablu and her sister Sweety. She and Guddu are primed to offer Kaleen Bhaiya the biggest challenge and are likely to take over his empire in Season 3.

- Kulbhushan Kharbanda plays the sinister Bauji, Satyanand Tripathi. Wheelchair-ridden, he was Kaleen Bhaiya's father and raped Beena multiple times under the guise of giving the family an heir with their bloodline. He died towards the end of Season 2.

- Shriya Pilgaonkar played Swaragini 'Sweety' Gupta. Both Guddu and Munna liked Sweety in college. When she returned Guddu's affections, Munna took umbrage - he killed her towards the end of Season 1 with Guddu and Golu watching helplessly.

- Lilliput as Devdatt 'Dadda' Tyagi.

- Vijay Varma has a double role in the series as Dadda Tyagi's heirs Bharat and Shatrughan. Bharat is killed in Season 2, but the shrewd and meticulous Shatrughan could play a major role in Season 3.

- Isha Talwar plays Madhuri Yadav, politician Surya Pratap's daughter with political ambitions of her own.
