Streaming platform Netflix has officially announced the premiere date of Ravi Kishan-led web series Maamla Legal Hai Season 2. The much-loved courtroom comedy will begin streaming from April 3.
On March 5, Netflix shared a teaser on Instagram, confirming the return of the Patparganj gang. The caption read, "Ab pata chala Delhi ke langooron ka raaz Patparganj ki atrangi toli jo laut rahi hai. Watch Maamla Legal Hai: Season 2, out 3 April, only on Netflix."
Set against the backdrop of the Patparganj District Court in Delhi, the series struck a chord with viewers for its light-hearted, satirical take on legal cases and its eccentric group of lawyers. The upcoming season promises to dive deeper into their professional chaos and personal equations, both inside and outside the courtroom.
Opening up about what audiences can expect this time, Ravi Kishan said in a statement, “This season, Tyagi is eager to prove himself as a judge, but it’s a task easier said than done. Yahaan har maamla serious hota hai, par tareeka bilkul hatke (Here, every case is serious, but the approach is completely unconventional). I can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the madness of Patpatganj District Court. Like we said in the first season: Yeh Vakeel sirf coat ke kaale hain, dil ke nahi. (These lawyers only have black coats, not black heart.)”
Season 2 will continue following V.D. Tyagi’s journey along with the lives of fellow lawyers navigating the peculiarities of the court. The story will also explore what lies ahead for Sujata, Ananya Shroff and Vishwas Pandey as their arcs evolve further.
The series is produced by Posham Pa Pictures and is spearheaded by showrunner Sameer Saxena. It is directed by Rahul Pandey and written by Syed Shadan, Mohak Aneja and Tatsat Pandey, with Kunal leading the writing team.
This season will also see new additions to the cast, including Kusha Kapila and Dinesh Lal Yadav. Meanwhile, Nidhi Bisht, Naila Grewal, Anant Joshi and Anjum Batra return to reprise their roles.
With its unique blend of humour and courtroom drama, Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 is gearing up to bring back the signature chaos of Patparganj District Court when it premieres on April 3 exclusively on Netflix.
