Netflix’s bold, boundary-pushing anthology Lust Stories is set to return for its third season in 2026, according to multiple industry reports. The series, which first launched as a four-segment anthology exploring love, desire, and modern relationships, has become one of the most notable Indian anthology projects on the global streaming platform.
Lust Stories 3 brings together a new lineup of acclaimed filmmakers at the helm of its segments, including Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra, Kiran Rao, and Vishal Bhardwaj — all known for their distinct cinematic voices and storytelling styles. The anthology continues the franchise’s tradition of presenting standalone short films that examine contemporary themes of intimacy and human connection through a nuanced lens.
According to Variety India, casting for the new season features a mix of established and emerging talent. Radhika Apte, a standout performer in the original Lust Stories anthology, is returning in Lust Stories 3, this time appearing under Motwane’s direction. The third season also marks a significant project for Aditi Rao Hydari, who will feature in one of the segments directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The star-studded ensemble is rounded out by actors such as Ali Fazal, Radhika Madan, Gurfateh Pirzada, and newcomer Sana Thampi, appearing in the various shorts.
Filming for all four stories in Lust Stories 3 has wrapped, and the project is now in post-production, with Netflix expected to announce a release date soon, likely in mid-2026. This will make Lust Stories the first Indian anthology on Netflix to reach three seasons, a major milestone for the format and for the platform’s original content slate in India.
