Reality TV star Kashish Kapoor has reacted strongly to a controversial promo from the upcoming reality series The 50 after contestant Rajat Dalal was seen slapping Digvijay Singh Rathee during a heated altercation, calling the act unacceptable and urging viewers and broadcasters to take a stand against such violence. The show’s recent promo has gone viral, capturing a physical confrontation that shocked both fans and fellow reality TV personalities.
In posts shared on social media, Kashish — known for her stint on Splitsvilla X5 and Bigg Boss 18 — condemned the slap, describing any form of violence on television as “absolutely wrong” and “illegal.” She expressed disbelief that someone could carry out a physical act like that “on national television,” underscoring her concern about how such behaviour might be normalised for drama or TRP.
Kashish also pointed to a pattern of aggressive actions directed at Digvijay, noting that this was not the first time he had faced such behaviour in reality TV settings. She stressed that viewers often consume conflict as entertainment without fully considering the real-life consequences for the participants involved. “Yeh janta ki problem hai,” she said, emphasising that audience reactions influence how channels and producers handle these moments.
Her statement didn’t just stop at criticism of Rajat’s behaviour; she also called out broadcasters Colors TV and JioHotstar, suggesting that responsibility lies with them too if they continue to air unfiltered on-screen violence without adequate safeguards, even as she acknowledged that fear of losing TRP might deter action.
The promo that sparked this reaction shows a tense task breakdown between Rajat and Digvijay, where a verbal exchange escalates into Rajat delivering a slap and grabbing Digvijay’s neck before other contestants intervene — a move that has triggered backlash not just from Kashish but also from netizens calling for accountability and even the removal of Rajat from the show.
The 50 premieres on Colors TV and streams on JioHotstar. The show airs at 10:30 pm on Colors TV, while episodes drop earlier at 9 pm on Jio Hotstar.
