There is good news for all the Koffee With Karan (KWK) fans: the man himself, Karan Johar, has confirmed that he will be returning with the new season of the show in the second half of 2025.
The ace producer was in conversation with film critic Sucharita Tyagi, where he admitted that his last season had the most boring rapid-fire round sessions ever.
“I was like, ‘Why am I even doing this?’ You're not giving me questions. Should we just drop the rapid fire, and I will take the hamper because no one really deserves to win it? Now, I am like, let's change the world of Koffee with Karan with the ninth season. And it will be back with all the fun and the chattiness,” said Karan Johar.
Karan Johar admitted to the fact that he is not getting the right kind of answers from the celebs, as 'they don't want to land in trouble'.
He said you are not getting answers like Emraan Hashmi or Mahesh Bhatt. KJo said he has also noticed that the stars on his couch are measuring their words, making the show lose its sheen and originality.
He said, "With the way Bhatt Saab is, he will still give me such answers. But I think I would get into trouble. Like, you called him, and you got these answers. Why didn’t you edit?” he laughed.
KWK is known for celebs giving answers that often make headlines, which is the USP of the show to give fun insights into lives.
Karan Johar himself said Koffee With Karan season 8 had ‘the most boring rapid-fire’.
“It was the most boring rapid fire in the history of the show. Season 9 will come back with a new syntax," he told the interviewer.
Last year, Koffee With Karan season 8 began with the debut appearance of Ranveer Singh with his actress wife Deepika Padukone. Next were Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, Rani Mukerji and Kajol, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, and Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor.
