Prime Video dropped the official trailer of Bandwaale on Wednesday, February 11, offering a glimpse into its upcoming musical dramedy headlined by Shalini Pandey and Zahan Kapoor. The series features a strong ensemble cast including Swanand Kirkire, Sanjana Dipu, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Anupama Kumar in key roles. Bandwaale is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on February 13.
Set against the vibrant yet restrained backdrop of Ratlam, the trailer introduces viewers to a touching story about creativity, friendship, and quiet resistance.
At its centre is Mariam, a young poet who starts sharing her verses anonymously online while dealing with questions about identity, independence, and belonging. Through her words, she gradually carves out a space for herself in a world that often tries to limit her.
Music forms the emotional backbone of the series. It features original compositions by Yashraj Mukhate, marking his first work as a composer for a long-form series, along with moving poetry written by Kausar Munir. The show combines melody and meaning to enhance its storytelling. The soundtrack is not just background music; it acts as a driving force that enriches the emotional depth of the narrative.
Mariam’s journey connects with Robo and DJ Psycho, two young men dealing with their own ambitions and doubts. Together, the trio creates a creative sanctuary fueled by music, humor, and shared dreams.
The trailer hints at their growing friendship, artistic desires, and the hopeful belief that art can offer both escape and change. Music flows through their lives and becomes a key part of their emotional and personal development.
Speaking about his character, Zahan Kapoor shared, “DJ Psycho is somewhat of a mystery, doing all sorts of odd jobs in Ratlam, he feels deeply but expresses himself through collaborative music with beats and sounds."
"He tries to keep a low profile and stick to business, but that’s until he meets Mariam, and of course Robo inevitably too. He gets swept up and intertwined in their lives while his old life lurks eerily around the corner. Playing him was incredibly freeing because it allowed me to explore new emotions and relationships linked with music and sound design."

Shalini Panday reflected on her role as Mariam, stating, “Mariam is someone who is constantly negotiating between what she feels and what the world expects her to be. Poetry becomes her most honest form of expression, a space where she can be vulnerable without fear or permission. Playing her was a deeply personal journey of understanding silence, restraint, and the courage it takes to slowly find your voice."
Created and written by Ankur Tewari and Swanand Kirkire, and directed by Akshat Verma alongside Ankur Tewari, Bandwaale is produced by OML Entertainment. With its blend of music, poetry, and emotional storytelling, the series promises a layered coming-of-age experience that celebrates art as both refuge and revolution.
