Aashish Chanchlani has unveiled the real poster of his web series Ekaki, confirming a dramatic shift in the show’s narrative and genre. Initially introduced as a horror story filled with eerie moments and paranormal clues, the series has now revealed its true face, a sci-fi thriller centered around extraterrestrial elements.
The first episode of Ekaki led viewers to believe they were watching a conventional horror tale, complete with unsettling visuals and mysterious happenings. However, the second episode delivered a major twist, overturning expectations by revealing that the so-called supernatural forces were, in fact, aliens. This revelation marked a bold departure from the horror genre and repositioned the series as a science fiction thriller.
Announcing the twist, the makers shared the new poster on social media, calling it the “real poster” of Ekaki. Sharing the news, they wrote, Here is the REAL poster of Ekaki
Ekaki was always a sci-fi story hiding under the mask of horror. We welcome you to the beginning of..the end Chapter 3 drops 21st December 2:04 sharp.”
They revealed that the series had always been rooted in science fiction, cleverly hidden beneath a horror façade. The announcement also teased the upcoming chapter, hinting at a larger and more intense narrative arc ahead.
Known primarily for his comedy content, Aashish Chanchlani has earned praise for stepping into a more layered and experimental storytelling space. His creative vision and performance in Ekaki have been described as a refreshing shift, showcasing his willingness to break away from his established image and explore darker, more complex themes.
The series brings together a familiar and talented creative team. Alongside Chanchlani, Ekaki features Akash Dodeja as the parallel lead, with Kunal Chhabhria as co-producer. The project is backed by executive producer Jashan Sirwani and creative director Tanish Sirwani, while the screenplay is co-written by Grishim Nawanii and line-produced by Ritesh Sadhwani.
