The News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2026 kicked off on a celebratory note, moving from the glamour of the red carpet to a night dedicated to honouring the best cinematic and OTT achievements of 2025.
One of the best highlights was the strong showing by Homebound. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, the film made a powerful impact, with Neeraj Ghaywan winning Best Screenplay and Vishal Jethwa taking home the Best Actor (Jury) award. Their wins reflected the emotional depth and storytelling strength that made the film resonate with both critics and audiences.
The OTT segment brought its own memorable moments. Madhuri Dixit, fondly known as the “Queen of Hearts”, won Best Actress (Popular Choice) for her role in Mrs. Deshpande. Her performance once again proved why she continues to connect so effortlessly with viewers across generations.
