K-pop fans were recently shaken by the news that NCT's Taeil has been accused of a sexual offense and will be leaving the group. This development was confirmed by NCT's agency, SM Entertainment through an official statement. Furthermore, his fellow NCT member Haechan has also unfollowed Taeil on Instagram shortly after the news broke.
SM Entertainment released a statement addressing the serious allegations against Taeil. The statement read, "This is SM Entertainment. We have recently learned that Taeil has been accused in a criminal case related to a sexual offense. As we were assessing the facts related to the matter, we recognized the severity of the situation and determined that Taeil can no longer continue his activities with the team (NCT). After discussing with Taeil, we have decided on his departure from the group."
The statement also emphasised that Taeil is cooperating fully with the ongoing police investigation. SM Entertainment expressed regret over the situation, stating, "We will provide further statements as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the concern and distress caused by our artist."

Fans took to social media to express their reactions. One fan tweeted, "If the members unfollowed him, I know this issue will be serious. Even his best friend unfollowed him. I don't know how to react to this case."
As of now, Taeil has not released any statement about his departure from NCT.
