Global pop sensation Shakira is set to make an even bigger comeback in India. After an overwhelming response to her upcoming concerts, the singer has added another show to her India tour, giving fans one more opportunity to experience her electrifying performance live.
The Colombian star will now perform an additional concert in Mumbai on 11 April at the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse, alongside her previously announced show at the same venue on 10 April.
The decision to add another date came after organisers witnessed an extraordinary demand for tickets soon after sales opened.
The new show was first noticed by fans online over the weekend when an extra event listing appeared on the District by Zomato platform.
While the concert is now visible on the app, ticket sales for the 11 April performance have not yet begun, and organisers are yet to confirm when bookings will officially open.
According to the organisers, the extra date was added following what they described as “unprecedented demand" for tickets, with fans eager to catch the global icon live in concert.
With this addition, Shakira’s India visit will now include three shows in total — two in Mumbai and one in Delhi. The singer is also scheduled to perform in the national capital on 15 April at the well-known Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The announcement has already generated massive excitement among fans on social media. “Mumbai & 1 in Delhi. This is going to be huge. Can’t wait," one excited fan wrote, while another posted, “New Date for @Shakira in India. Obviously only the Queen Can."
Tickets for the Mumbai and Delhi concerts first went on sale on 1 March through the District platform. Prices for the Mumbai shows range from ₹6,000 for general admission to ₹32,000 for premium packages, reflecting the huge anticipation surrounding the performances.
Shakira’s upcoming concerts will mark her first major performance in India in nearly 19 years. The last time she performed in the country was in 2007 during her Oral Fixation Tour, when she also performed in Mumbai.
Earlier, while announcing the tour, the singer shared her excitement about returning to the country and reconnecting with her fans.
She said, “Performing in India has always been special to me, and I’m excited to connect with my fans across Mumbai and Delhi. The tour is about standing together to ensure every child has access to the nutrition they need to thrive."
The concerts are being organised as part of an initiative by Feeding India in partnership with Zomato’s District platform. Notably, this will be the first time the Feeding India Concert will take place across multiple cities.
A Grammy-winning artist who holds several Guinness World Records titles, Shakira is known worldwide for hit songs such as Hips Don’t Lie, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), Whenever, Wherever and She Wolf — tracks that continue to remain favourites among fans across generations.
