Bollywood actress and now an elected MP from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, Kangana Ranaut has released the first poster of her upcoming movie Emergency. The movie, which has been postponed many times, is finally going to release in September.
The National Award winning actress, who is known for her strong portrayals onscreen, will be seen in the titular role of former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
In the poster, Kangana looks unrecognisable in her avatar as Mrs Gandhi - her short salt n pepper hair, cotton saree and specs.

Emergency is the biographical political drama film and it has been directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut herself. The movie is based on a screenplay by Ritesh Shah and story written by Kangana Ranaut.
The film also has stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and late Satish Kaushik in important roles.
Emergency was slated to release in November 2023 but it was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections then. Kangana Ranaut won her debut elections from her hometown Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
Kangana was in news recently after a CISF constable slapped her at Chandigarh airport. The constable was upset with the actress over her remarks on the Kisan andolan.
