Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has once again made a fashion statement rooted in cultural pride. For a recent winter wedding, she chose to wear a traditional Ladakhi Goncha designed by Namza Couture, embracing the rustic elegance of Himalayan heritage.

In her social-media post, Kangana shared that ‘wedding season in India is also an opportunity to indulge in our traditions and culture,’ adding that this outfit was a “mountain story” created specially for the occasion.

The ensemble blended traditional elements, including items described as “mogos,” “bok,” and other Ladakhi accents, giving the winter-wedding guest look a rich, cultural texture.

Goncha, traditionally worn in high-altitude Himalayan regions for warmth and cultural identity, carries deep roots in the Ladakhi (and broader mountain) heritage. By choosing this outfit over more mainstream wedding attire, Kangana highlighted India’s often-overlooked regional fashion and reminded her followers of the beauty embedded in local traditions.

Fans widely lauded Kangana Ranaut for her choice to wear the traditional Ladakhi Goncha, praising her for spotlighting regional heritage in a mainstream fashion setting. Many admired how she embraced cultural authenticity rather than opting for the typical contemporary wedding attire, calling her look “refreshing,” “regal,” and “a proud representation of India’s mountain traditions.”
