In a remarkable feat for Indian cinema, "Kalki 2898 AD" has stormed into 2024 with a bang, claiming the title of the highest-grossing film of the year thus far. The futuristic epic dazzled audiences nationwide, marking the third-largest domestic opening in Indian film history.
Recently, acclaimed director Atlee, known for his blockbuster hit "Jawan," watched this sci-fi extravaganza featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan. He took to Instagram Stories to lavish praise on the movie, describing it as the "best entertainment with a stunning visual feast."

On his Instagram Stories, the “Jawan” director shared the poster of "Kalki 2898 AD" and wrote, “Kalki was absolutely blown away by Ashwin’s incredible filmmaking and the high quality of the film. Hats off to you, brother! And a big shoutout to producer Swapna Dutt for the amazing production value. This film is truly stunning in every aspect. Prabhas sir, your performance was amazing! Deepika Padukone ma’am, I am your biggest fan, your work was so good! Amitabh Bachchan sir, you were at a god level in this film! Mass!… Kudos to the entire team. Nag Ashwin, the film’s director, reshared Atlee's post on his Instagram Stories with hug emojis. Deepika also reshared his story, expressing her gratitude with, “Thank you, sir!”

"Kalki 2898 AD" seamlessly blends sci-fi with mythological elements. Prabhas stars as Bhairava, a bounty hunter from Kashi, while Deepika portrays SUM-80, a pregnant test subject. Amitabh Bachchan takes on the role of Ashwatthama from Indian mythology, and Kamal Haasan plays Supreme Yaskin, the leader of the Complex. The narrative follows Bhairava’s quest to earn enough units to live in the Complex, only to have his plans thwarted by Ashwatthama. The film hit theaters on June 27.

On its fifth day in theaters, "Kalki 2898 AD" continued to shatter records, pulling in a staggering Rs 34.6 crore nett across India. This impressive haul boosted its domestic total to an astounding Rs 343.6 crore within just five days of release. However, the film experienced a noticeable decline in collections come Monday, following an explosive start that saw it rake in a massive Rs 555 crore in global gross earnings during its first four days.
