Kajol says SRK and Ajay Devgn were never buddies: 'They truly respect each other'

Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have been Bollywood's favorite romantic onscreen couple. The two were seen in the iconic love story Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge along with many others like My Name Is Khan, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Dilwale.

The fans loved their chemistry and onscreen presence in many love stories on the big screen.

But for many years there have been speculations that there was simmering tension between Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan due to the unbreakable on-screen chemistry and close bond shared by Kajol and SRK.

“Nothing at all; they were pretty much rumors. Genuinely, nothing really happened. They weren’t like, ‘Oh buddy, let’s share a beer,’ but today they truly respect each other," said Kajol.

She also spoke about 'camps' in Bollywood and said she doesn't know whether they exist or not. "I don’t know whether there are camps anymore. There weren’t camps, just friends or certain people who have worked with certain people. More than camps, it was a comfort level of whom you’ve worked and not worked with. I didn’t have a camp; I worked with everybody. The camp system eluded me," she said.

She also said that there is a mutual understanding between her and Ajay. "There’s no awkwardness; that’s a boundary, really. As people, we are individuals. I will like some things, and he will not like some things and vice versa. We both decided that that’s fine. As long as I don’t have to sit down and whatever, I am fine. You go ahead, have friends and do whatever you want," she added.

Kajol will next be seen in Sarazameen, a thriller starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Saif Ali Khan. The movie will be released on Jio Hotstar on July 25.
