Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna attended the wedding reception of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which was a grand and star-studded event. Despite Akshay testing positive for COVID-19 and missing the wedding ceremony held on July 12, he ensured his presence at the reception on July 15 to bless the newlyweds. Anant Ambani had personally extended the invitation to Akshay by visiting his residence, highlighting the importance of their presence.

The reception saw the couple making a stylish entry in gold-tinted outfits. The event, held at the Ambani residence, Antilia, was part of a series of wedding festivities that included various ceremonies attended by prominent figures from the entertainment industry. Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt graced the occasion with their presence. The global allure of the celebration was amplified by the appearance of international sensation Kim Kardashian and an unexpected visit from WWE superstar John Cena.

Akshay's absence from the wedding ceremony was due to him contracting COVID-19 while promoting his latest release, "Sarfira." Upon feeling unwell and learning that members of his promotions team had tested positive, Akshay decided to get tested and subsequently isolated himself after receiving a positive result. This precautionary measure led him to miss the final leg of his film promotions and Anant Ambani’s wedding, which he had been keen to attend.

The wedding festivities kicked off with the Mameru ceremony, a traditional Gujarati pre-wedding ritual, hosted by Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani at their residence. The celebrations were marked by grandeur and opulence, consistent with the Ambani family's reputation for hosting lavish events. The couple's nuptials were one of the most talked-about events in the entertainment industry, not just for the scale of the festivities but also for the high-profile guest list that included some of Bollywood's biggest names.

Akshay Kumar's commitment to attending the reception despite his recent illness underscores his close relationship with the Ambani family. His appearance at the pre-wedding celebrations in March further highlights this bond. The Ambani family's gesture of personally inviting Akshay and the actor's effort to be present at the reception despite health challenges exemplify the mutual respect and warmth shared between them.
