K-Pop fans were left stunned after Heeseung, a member of the popular boy band ENHYPEN, announced his departure from the group. Following his exit, the band will continue its journey as a six-member team.
The group’s agency, Belift Lab, confirmed the news through statements shared on its official social media. They announced that Heeseung would be leaving the group after talks with the company and the other members.
Reports from The Korea Times state that the decision followed extensive discussions about the group’s future and the personal goals of its members.
Enhypen's agency statement
Belift Lab said that the choice for Heeseung to leave the group was made only after careful and lengthy discussions about the band’s direction and the individual aspirations of its members.
The agency further stated that these talks revealed Heeseung’s wish to follow his own musical path.
The statement mentioned that the singer has a clear artistic vision he wants to explore on his own, which will help him focus on building a solo career.
“Through in-depth discussions with each of the members about the future they envision and the direction of the team, it became clear that Heeseung has his own distinct musical vision,” the agency said in its statement.
Respecting his ambitions, both the agency and the remaining members agreed that it would be the right decision for him to leave the group and pursue his individual goals.
Heeseung's solo album
Belift Lab has confirmed that Heeseung is currently working on a solo album. The agency has shared that the solo project is very much underway and further details about the release, including its title or launch timeline, will be revealed when the time is right.
Meanwhile, the remaining members — Jake, Jay, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-ki — will continue promoting as ENHYPEN. However, the announcement did not include specific updates about upcoming music releases or tour plans for the group.
Heeseung reached out to his fans on Weverse and expressed gratitude to his fellow members and to those who have supported him throughout his journey with the group.

“Thanks to the members with whom I shared countless emotions, and to ENGENE, who always filled every empty space with their support, I was able to take step after step toward a dream that once felt out of reach,” he wrote. “I am working hard on an album so I can meet you all again soon.”
Heeseung first debuted as a member of ENHYPEN in November 2020 after appearing on the survival audition program I-LAND. The group officially launched its career with the release of Border: Day One and quickly gained a global fanbase through its music and performances.
