K-pop superstars BTS are all set to kick off their first world tour in four years in April, their label announced on Wednesday. This is part of their eagerly awaited return after a hiatus for the South Koreans, whose music has become an international sensation.
The first K-pop group to top both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Artist 100 charts in the US, BTS is recognised for its upbeat and enjoyable tunes like "Dynamite" and "Butter." They also hold the record for being the most-played group on Spotify.
However, since 2022, the Bulletproof Boy Scouts—as their name implies in Korean—have not toured or produced any music because they completed the national military service mandated for all South Korean men under the age of thirty.
The band's label declared on New Year's Day that they will release a new album in March and go on tour the following month, now that all seven members have finished their military service.
According to the band's agency, HYBE, it will be the largest-ever single tour by a K-pop group in terms of total shows and the ‘widest regional reach for a South Korean artist,’ spanning 34 locations with 79 performances.

The globe tour will begin on April 9 in Goyang, South Korea, and play two more shows there before heading to neighbouring Japan.
After that, they would travel to the US and Europe before concluding their trip in Manila in March 2027.
Additional cities, including stops in Japan and the Middle East, will be revealed, according to the band's label. Their upcoming album, which has not yet been given a name, will be their first since the anthology "Proof" became the best-selling record in South Korea in 2022. BTS fans in India are also eagerly awaiting their comeback and tour.
