BLACKPINK member Rosé has etched her name into history books by becoming the first K-pop artist ever to win a trophy at Britain’s most prestigious pop music awards, the BRIT Awards.
At the 46th edition of the ceremony held on Saturday (local time), Rosé clinched the International Song of the Year award for “APT.,” her widely celebrated collaboration with American pop superstar Bruno Mars. The victory marks a defining milestone not just in her solo career, but also for the broader K-pop industry, which had previously seen nominations at the BRITs but never a win.
Taking the stage to accept the honor, Rosé expressed heartfelt gratitude. “Give a shout out to BLACKPINK. Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa, I love you guys so much. Thank you for always inspiring me.”
She also acknowledged her collaborator, saying, “Bruno, I'm receiving this award on behalf of the both of us. Thank you so much for everything for being my biggest mentor and best friend,” before extending appreciation to Teddy, founder and chief producer of The Black Label.
The official BRIT Awards described “APT.” as the “record-breaking and best-selling global single of 2025,” underscoring the song’s extraordinary worldwide impact.
Released in October 2024 as a pre-release single from her debut studio album “rosie,” “APT.” quickly turned into a global phenomenon. The track went on to spend an impressive 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest run ever achieved by a K-pop song, and climbed as high as No. 3 on the chart.
Beyond its BRITs victory, the song dominated the awards circuit. It secured Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV VMAs, earned Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and topped the IFPI Global Singles Chart — further cementing its place as one of the biggest global hits of the year.

Rosé’s triumph is especially significant considering K-pop’s previous near-misses at the BRIT Awards. Global phenomenon BTS had been nominated for International Group of the Year in 2021 and 2022. BLACKPINK followed with a nomination in 2023, while Korean DJ Peggy Gou was shortlisted for International Song of the Year in 2024 but did not take home the award.
With this groundbreaking win, Rosé has opened a new chapter for K-pop on one of the world’s most prestigious music stages, signaling the genre’s growing global recognition and influence.
