What was Ra.One controversy
It is to be noted that many years ago, Kareena Kapoor was criticised during the promotional phase of Ra.One in 2011 especially around its posters.
The posters sparked discussion after observers pointed out that Kareena's waist appeared unusually slim, leading to speculation that the image had been digitally edited.
The controversy fed into a broader debate in Bollywood about photo retouching, unrealistic beauty standards, and the pressure on actresses to conform to highly stylised on-screen images.
While the makers did not formally address the claims in detail, the episode became part of the film’s wider publicity cycle at a time when Ra.One was already drawing intense attention for its big-budget visual effects and superhero theme.
Kareena, who was widely praised for her glamorous look and the popular song “Chammak Challo,” never spoke about it in the public domain.
Ra.One released in 2011, was a superhero film directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. It had Shah Rukh Khan in double role and Kareena played his wife.
