Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s daughter, North West, has recently debuted black grills, but her followers didn’t welcome her new look with open arms. Several called her out over her black teeth, but North didn’t hold back and clapped back at the comments.
During a live session on January 26, which was reshared to X, North clapped back at the backlash and said, "Why is my teeth black? Are we okay?”
She also confirmed that the accessory was temporary, adding, "I could take them out.”
In December, North debuted the daring look on her TikTok, complete with jewelry on her face that wasn't verified to be actual body piercings. Her numerous finger piercings have also generated a lot of attention. In September, she went on a date with Kardashian in Rome while sporting them, and earlier this month, she flaunted her new body alterations.
Furthermore, North has defended herself against the criticism. She responded to criticism of her jewels in a TikTok video last month.
She wrote, "This is for everyone that's mad over a finger piercing."
In a new song she co-wrote with her musical father, Kanye, she even went so far as to defend her style. North raps, "Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands," and "No friends, just filter, you wouldn't understand," in "Piercing on My Hand (Ye Version)," which was posted to her Instagram Stories.
Kardashian has been open about her parenting methods with North despite the public criticism. Appearing on an edition of the Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, the SKIMS founder justified her decision to let her eldest wear specific types of clothing, piercings and fake tattoos, along with her now characteristic blue wig.
