Rocker Marilyn Manson is not getting relief from the court anytime soon in a sexual assault case. A Los Angeles judge has reopened a lawsuit against Marilyn Manson in accordance with a new law that permits the court to examine instances involving past sexual assault.
A former assistant to the musician filed the complaint in May 2021, but it was dismissed in December due to the statute of limitations, which is the maximum amount of time after the relevant events to initiate a claim.
However, in January, when a new law required a two-year window for the review of sexual assault cases that had already lapsed under the statute, plaintiff Ashley Walters requested that the court revisit her case.
The same Los Angeles Superior Court judge who had dismissed the lawsuit the previous month accepted it.
During the Monday hearing, Judge Steve Cochran said, "I looked at this closely. I do think the statute revives the claim."
Walters claims that between 2010 and 2011, while she was employed by the rock star's Manson Records, she was sexually attacked.
Additionally, she says that Manson, whose actual name is Brian Hugh Warner, showed her a video of him torturing a little girl and boasted about raping women.
Howard King, Manson's attorney, predicted the lawsuit would be unsuccessful.
According to AFP, the lawyer said in the statement, "While Ms. Walters made several now-irrelevant claims about so-called workplace harassment, she has no pending claims for sexual assault as defined in the penal code, as would be required under the new law, nor is she permitted under the ruling to add new claims.”

He added, “The undeniable fact is that Mr. Warner never committed any sexual assault.”
Over the years, a number of women, including actresses Esme Bianco and his ex-partner Evan Rachel Wood, have accused Manson, 57, of sexual assault and abuse.
In January 2025, one of the cases—which alleged domestic abuse and sexual assault—was rejected once more due to the statute of limitations.
