Miley Cyrus is all set to return to where it all began. She has recently sent her fans into a frenzy with the latest announcement.
Disney has just announced a Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special set to premiere on March 24.
The makers dropped the first look teaser with the caption, “Going back to where it all began. The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres March 24 on Disney+. #MileysMemories.”
The teaser begins with a glimpse of a car stopping at the Stage 9 studio. The number plate of the car reads “HM 20.” The teaser then shows Miley’s boots, which soon transition into announcing the special.
The upcoming special will “celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation, exactly two decades after its Disney Channel debut.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miley will participate in the special, which will be recorded in front of a live studio audience, in conversation with Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, in-depth.
The conversation will “offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans around the world.”
The Hannah Montana closet and the Stewart family living room are two examples of the series' sets that will be brought back to life as Miley goes over the music and scenes from the show throughout the special. Additionally, fans will be treated to never-before-seen archival video.
In the official statement, Miley said, “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.”
The singer and the actor added, “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
The upcoming anniversary special will be backed by Unwell Productions and HopeTown Entertainment. Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Cooper, and Matt Kaplan are executive producers, while Ashley Edens is the showrunner.
In addition to streaming all four seasons of the Disney series, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert, Disney+ will also provide a Hannah Montana Collection ahead of the anniversary special.
The hit sitcom about a youngster living a double life as a pop singer and a normal girl, which debuted twenty years ago, served as the impetus for Miley Cyrus' career.
She co-starred in the show with Jason Earles, Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso, and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.

Several well-known celebrities, such as Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, and Dolly Parton, made special appearances on the show.
Miley has been teasing the anniversary special for a long. The actress recently shared a series of throwback pictures from Hannah Montana days and penned, “Going through the archives… so many memories xoMC.” Emily had also shared a pic of a script from the show, fueling the rumours that something special is cooking.
