Disclosure Day Trailer OUT: Emily Blunt encounters UFO in Steven Spielberg’s extraterrestrial mystery

Steven Spielberg has returned with yet another extraterrestrial show. The 78-year-old Oscar-winning director's new film is a return to science fiction.

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer of Disclosure Day on Tuesday, December 16. The movie stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and others.

The trailer was shared with the caption that reads, “If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to 7 billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day."

After that, Emily Blunt is seen on TV doing a weather report before she starts to stammer and make odd clicking noises that sound alien.

In the video, Josh O'Connor plays a character who declares that "people have a right to know the truth" and that he intends to make "full disclosure, to the whole world, all at once."  Later on, he is seen standing in what looks to be a crop circle.

For the unversed, Spielberg and Koepp previously worked together on Jurassic Park (1993), War of the Worlds (2005), and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). The publication also revealed in October that composer John Williams would create the film's soundtrack, which would be his 30th overall collaboration with Spielberg over their careers.

On December 10, billboards for the film with the simple message "all will be disclosed - Spielberg 06.12.26" started to emerge in Times Square and Los Angeles.

Spielberg's last film, The Fabelmans, a semi-autobiographical picture that was nominated for seven Oscars, was released in 2022. Spielberg returns to the genre of science fiction storytelling with the new film, which he helped popularise with movies like War of the Worlds, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Disclosure Day is in theatres on June 12, 2026.
