Farhan Akhtar backed, and Lakshmipriya Devi directed the Manipur film, Boong, which has recently won big at the BAFTA Awards 2026 on Sunday. The film won an award in the Best Children and Family Film category, creating history.

The award was presented by kids’ favourite Peruvian bear, Paddington, the biggest star to ever attend the BAFTAs. Soon after the award ceremony, Boong’s crew posed with the life-sized Paddington at the BAFTAs 2026 red carpet. Several pictures from the red carpet are going viral on social media.

In the pics, Lakshmipriya is seen hugging Paddington with Farhan and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani posing aside.

Paddington's attendance at the BAFTAs is somewhat more unexpected. Arco, Boong, Lilo & Sitch, and Zootropolis 2 are among the nominees in the Paddington Presents category at the BAFTAs.

Boong is backed by Farhan Akhtar under the banner of his production house, Excel Entertainment. He co-produced the film with Ritesh Sidhwani.

Boong stars Gugun Kipgen and Bala Hijam in the lead and follows a young boy named Boong, from the valley of Manipur, who plans to surprise his mother with a gift. In his innocence, he believes that bringing his father back home would be the most special gift. His search for his father leads to an unexpected gift – a new beginning.
