Video has emerged of actor and comedian Billy Crystal visibly emotional and wiping away tears outside the Los Angeles home of filmmaker Rob Reiner following the tragic discovery of Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, dead earlier this week.

The footage shows Crystal, accompanied by his wife Janice, leaving the Brentwood residence in the aftermath of the grim discovery, which has left friends, family, and fans in shock. Crystal and Reiner shared a decades-long friendship and professional collaboration, notably on the 1989 romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally…, making the moment especially poignant.

The duo shared a long history of collaboration, beginning with Crystal’s appearance on All in the Family in 1976 as l, the friend of Reiner’s character Mike. They later teamed up on iconic projects, including When Harry Met Sally…, The Princess Bride, and This Is Spinal Tap.

Authorities found Reiner, 78, and Michele, 68, with apparent stab wounds in their home on December 14, and the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, was arrested on suspicion of murder. The loss of the filmmaker, known for directing classics such as This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, and A Few Good Men, has prompted an outpouring of tributes from across Hollywood.

On December 15, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Nick Reiner, the Reiners’ 32-year-old son, was arrested a day earlier on suspicion of murdering his parents.

He remains in police custody without bail. The deaths of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner are still under investigation, and during a press conference on December 14, authorities said that “many family members” would be interviewed as part of the process.
