His Holiness Dalai Lama teams up with Sarod-Virtuoso Amjad Ali Khan and Sons for new album

Together, they produce a musical offering that presents an artistic conversation between sound and reflection by bridging India's classical heritage with voices from around the world.

Meditations: Contemplations of His Deity The Dalai Lama is a profoundly spiritual new album that highlights His Holiness the Dalai Lama's lifelong message of kindness, peace, compassion, and hope by fusing music with his spoken reflections.

The renowned sarod virtuosos Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, multi-Grammy and Emmy Award-winning producer, author, and composer Kabir Sehgal, and the revered global spiritual leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Amjad Ali Khan are all featured in this special project.

Together, they produce a musical offering that presents an artistic conversation between sound and reflection by bridging India's classical heritage with voices from around the world.

Several international guest artists are also included on the album. Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter and actress Andra Day, multi-Grammy Award-winning saxophonist, flautist, and composer Ted Nash, Grammy-nominated Costa Rican singer-songwriter Debi Nova, Grammy-nominated American singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers, multi-Grammy Award-winning Peruvian-American percussionist, composer, and producer Tony Succar, and Canadian-American singer-songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright all contribute their artistic talents. Their varied musical backgrounds and traditions highlight the Dalai Lama's timeless message's universal appeal and resonance.
