The Marvel fandom woke up buzzing on Tuesday. Joe and Anthony Russo, the director duo behind Avengers: Endgame, dropped a cryptic post for their upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
The brothers posted a strange, blurry image on social media with a simple caption: “#DoomsdayIsComing.” That was more than enough to set off a frenzy.
Within minutes, Marvel fans began their decoding game. The picture looked like some kind of text, symbols, or even abstract scribbles. But this is Marvel — nothing is random. One user on X confidently declared it was “Doctor Doom’s Latveria language.”
Another chimed in with, “Reed Richards working on multiverse equations with Victor Von Doom.” Others weren’t so sure. “Looks like Dr. Doom’s castle got a bad Wi-Fi signal,” one fan joked, while another frustrated comment read, “Are the Russo brothers trolling us with this blurry mess?”
The post has become the latest talking point in Marvel corners of Reddit and X. Some linked it to HYDRA codes, while a few suggested it was a chalkboard belonging to Reed Richards aka Mr Fantastic. “It’s obviously Reed’s chalkboard notes zoomed in to chaos,” a fan speculated.
For context, Avengers: Doomsday is being touted as Marvel’s next major event film, slated for release in December 2026. Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly returning as the main villain, Doctor Doom, a wild twist considering his iconic run as Tony Stark.
The film is set to bring together familiar faces like Loki, Thor, Ant-Man, plus the Fantastic Four and X-Men, in what fans are calling Marvel’s boldest crossover yet.
