In the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent rise in tensions between India and Pakistan, the Instagram accounts of several prominent Pakistani celebrities have been restricted for Indian users including Hania Aamir.

Amid the ongoing situation, a post alleged that Hania Aamir blamed the Pakistan army for the Pahalgam terror attack. The actress has now responded to the ‘fake’ news.

In her Instagram stories, Hania Aamir also wrote that making accusations without concrete evidence only serves to "widen the divide" between the two nations. She also described the viral claim as "false" and urged her followers and the media to refrain from spreading misinformation.

Her post read, "Recently, a statement has been falsely attributed to me and is being widely circulated on social media. I want to address this directly: I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me. It is entirely fabricated and misrepresents who I am and what I believe".

"That being said, this is a deeply sensitive and emotional time. My heart goes out to the innocent lives lost and the families affected by the recent tragedy. Pain like this is real, and it deserves empathy-not politicisation. In times like these, it's easy to let emotions cloud our judgment, but we must remember: the actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without proof only deepens divides and distracts from the real need for compassion, justice, and healing," she continued as expressed sympathies for the Pahalgam attack victims.

Hania concluded the post saying, "To my beloved supporters, your love means everything to me. I kindly ask everyone to check the truth before sharing and to approach these difficult times with kindness and clarity. Let us honor those impacted by choosing empathy, truth, and togetherness. I remain committed to spreading positivity and respect in all that I do. With sincere condolences and hope for peace."

The fabricated post falsely attributed to Hania Aamir went a step further, claiming that she blamed the Pakistani army and Islamic terrorists for the tragic Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists and a local Kashmiri resident. The April 22 assault was reportedly carried out by militants affiliated with the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Following the attack, a number of Pakistani celebrities have had their Instagram accounts blocked in India. Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly are some of the well-known individuals impacted.
