Gauri Khan, a well-known interior designer, businesswoman and wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, recently leased a two-bedroom flat that was allegedly meant for staff use.

The rental arrangement coincides with ongoing renovation work at their iconic residence, Mannat. The flat has been taken on a three-year leave and licence basis, with a monthly rent starting at 1.35 lakh, according to documents that Zapkey was able to access by E Times.

The flat, which is roughly 725 square feet in size and is a part of the Pankaj Premises Cooperative Society Ltd, is situated in the affluent Pali Hill neighbourhood.

The apartment has a living room, kitchen, two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Residential use is allowed under the agreement from April 10, 2025, to April 9, 2028.

A Rs 4.05 lakh security deposit was reportedly paid, and the contract has a 5% yearly escalation clause. On May 14, 2025, it was formally registered.

While Mannat undergoes extensive renovations, the Khan family has temporarily relocated to the luxurious Puja Casa building in Pali Hill.

Two opulent duplex apartments totalling more than 10,500 square feet make up this temporary residence. Gauri will remain here for the duration of the renovations, which could take up to three years, along with their kids Suhana, Aryan, and AbRam.

According to a News18 report, the Mannat revamp is set to elevate the home’s grandeur further, with the potential addition of two more floors. The property, often seen as a symbol of Shah Rukh Khan's success, carries deep emotional value for the actor.

Reflecting on their journey with Mannat during the 2023 launch of Gauri Khan’s book, Shah Rukh recalled, “When we bought the house we live in now, it was way beyond our means...” He recounted how Gauri took on the role of interior designer, stating, “So how do we do this house now? We bought it. What do we do with this?...”
