With just two days to go before its theatrical release, Sony Pictures Entertainment India is making sure Anaconda arrives with a hiss loud enough to stop traffic. After a visually striking promotional takeover in Delhi, the studio has now brought its most ambitious installation yet to Mumbai, and it is impossible to miss.
Right outside Mannat, one of the city’s most iconic and photographed landmarks, a gigantic Anaconda installation has slithered into public view, instantly turning the area into a crowd magnet. Stretching across the street, the structure has been billed as the longest Anaconda installation in the world, a claim that feels believable the moment you see it in person. Commuters slow down, phones come out, and tourists pause mid-walk as the colossal serpent coils through the urban landscape.
The contrast is deliberate and striking. A creature synonymous with dense Amazon rainforests now occupies one of Mumbai’s most glamorous stretches, creating a surreal visual that bridges wilderness and city life. By choosing Bandra, a neighbourhood known for celebrity culture, heritage, and constant footfall, the installation ensures maximum visibility and organic buzz ahead of the film’s Christmas release.
The installation is more than a photo-op. It is a statement of scale that mirrors the film’s promise. Anaconda leans into classic creature-feature thrills while injecting humour and chaos, positioning itself as a big-screen entertainer designed for shared reactions. The marketing reflects that tone, bold, playful, and unapologetically larger than life.
Directed by Tom Gormican, Anaconda stars Paul Rudd and Jack Black in lead roles, bringing together their distinct comic energies for what the makers describe as a wild cinematic ride. The ensemble cast also includes Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello, adding depth and unpredictability to the survival-driven narrative. The film is produced by Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Kevin Etten, and Gormican himself, a team known for blending genre spectacle with mainstream appeal.
As the holiday season approaches, Sony Pictures Entertainment India is clearly betting on spectacle both on and off screen. By planting the Anaconda in the heart of Mumbai, the studio has transformed a familiar street into a moment of cinematic surprise.
Anaconda releases in theatres on Christmas Day, 25 December 2025, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, promising audiences creature thrills, chaotic misadventures, and a reason to look over their shoulder the next time they walk past Mannat.
