Former U-KISS member Shin Dong Ho, popularly known as Dongho, has found himself at the center of a deeply
troubling controversy involving his ex-wife, their child, and a series of explosive allegations that have shaken fans across social media.
Dongho first rose to fame as a member of U-KISS, debuting in 2008. He remained with the group until 2013 before stepping away from idol life and retiring from mainstream Korean entertainment. In November 2015, he married a non-celebrity woman reportedly a year older than him. The couple welcomed a son in 2016 but divorced in 2018 after roughly three years of marriage.
Following his retirement, Dongho reportedly worked abroad, including as a DJ and entrepreneur in Japan.
The current controversy began earlier this week when Dongho’s ex-wife, identified publicly as “A,” took to Instagram to post a series of serious accusations. She alleged that Dongho had engaged in multiple affairs during their marriage and claimed that he failed to provide proper child support or maintain visitation with their son after the divorce. She also accused him of mistreating her during their relationship.
However, the most shocking claim involved an accusation that Dongho attempted to involve their child in prostitution. In her posts, A shared alleged KakaoTalk screenshots and wrote that Dongho had said he would “make my son into a prostitute.” In one of the shared messages, a user identified as “Dongblebee,” with a profile picture resembling Dongho, allegedly wrote, “You can teach *** how to manage the bar well with money. You should give him three condoms.” The authenticity of these messages has not been independently verified.
Responding publicly on February 26, Dongho strongly denied all allegations. He wrote, “I have never had an affair. The visitation negotiations, child support, and abuse are all false. I plan to file a complaint against A for spreading false information and defamation.” He has indicated that he intends to pursue legal action against his ex-wife.
In a fiery rebuttal, A responded on Instagram: “This is all false. You are crazy. Ok, let’s go all the way then. Sue me, please. I’ll even reveal the names of the members who engaged in prostitution with Dongho.” She further claimed, “I’ve never received child support… I have a recording of a phone call with Dongho’s mother. She apologised for Dongho abusing me.”
As of now, there are no publicly confirmed police reports, court filings, or official investigative findings substantiating claims of forced prostitution or other criminal conduct. The accusations remain based solely on social media statements from the ex-wife, while Dongho continues to deny all wrongdoing.
With both sides signaling legal action, what began as a public dispute has now escalated into a potentially serious legal battle. Until authorities or courts issue verified findings, the case remains unresolved and highly contentious.
